MEET SOME OF OUR BABIES
Algunos de nuestros Bebés
Animal's lives are not easy ones, especially the strays. This is what we fight  for, to make them feel as if they were kings and queens.

Meet Juanita.
She's 3 years old now. This photo was taken the day we came across her. She had been dragged by a pick up with a rope around her neck. Two men were trying to kill her. We saw them and started chasing them until they let her go, She was lying on the road, very still; we thought she was dead, but fortunately she wasn't. Look at her injuries. It took us many months to heal her physically and psychologically.

Conozcan a Juanita
This is Juanita today on her favourite chair. She's very playfull and jealous. She has completely forgotten her sad past.

Esta es Juanita en su lugar favorito. Es muy juguetona y celosa. Ha olvidado completamente su pasado.
Meet Angel.
He is 8 years old. He was hit by a car and left on the road to die. When we came across him he was helpless and unable to move. We picked him up and flew to the Vet's hospital. His condition was critical and he was in comma,  He had no life expectancy. After 20 minutes at the vet's his heart stopped beating and he even stopped breathing.  We managed to bring him back. His heart stopped three time during a period of several hours . We decided to stay overnight at the clinic to watch over him. We spent the next week practically at the clinic, eating, and resting there. He made it and his recovery was incredible.

Conozcan a Angel.

This is Angel today in this picture with Nubia, his nurse.
He likes being under the sun on the grass and near the water.

Meet Snowy
Our most recent case. Hit by a car and left to die. We flew to the vet's not knowing if we would be able to get there with him alive. He was in shock. His front leg separated from the body. A terrible injury and a broken hip as well. He was sutured but some days later the wound was wide open again. Three times he was operated on with the same result.
The last time it was decided nothing could be done and that the wound should remain open because there is no more skin to suture, we have to wait until it grows back. After a month he has started walking a bit but we have to help him because he loses the balance most of the time.

Conozcan a Snowy,
Despite the fact that the wound looks terrible, actually it is in the process of healing. In this picture Snowy is not in pain, he is yawning because he is tired after we made  him walk for a while so that his muscles remain functional.
